BD Series Block User Guide

Product Introduction
The BD Series Block is a precision-engineered pipe fitting designed by WENK Pneumatic for sealing the ends of threaded pipes in pneumatic systems. Constructed from high-quality brass, it features an external thread structure and a hexagonal head for easy installation and removal using standard tools.
This series offers a variety of specifications, including PT1/8, PT1/4, PT3/8, PT1/2, PT3/4, PT1, and G1 thread sizes, to meet the requirements of different piping systems.

Installation Preparation
-
Tool Preparation
- Appropriately sized wrench or pipe pliers
- Cleaning cloth
- Sealing material (such as PTFE tape, optional)
-
Inspection Items
- Confirm that the block size matches the pipe thread
- Check that the block threads are intact and undamaged
- Ensure the pipe end is clean, free of impurities or damage

Installation Steps
-
Clean the Pipe End
- Wipe the pipe threads with a clean cloth to remove dust, oil, and impurities
- Check for any damage or deformation on the pipe threads
-
Sealing Treatment (Optional)
- For high-pressure or gas applications, it is recommended to wrap an appropriate amount of PTFE tape around the block threads
- Start wrapping from the beginning of the thread, applying 2-3 even wraps along the thread direction
- Avoid getting PTFE tape inside the pipe
-
Install the Block
- Gently hand-thread the block into the pipe threads to ensure proper engagement
- Use a wrench or pipe pliers to tighten the block until a proper seal is achieved
- Be careful not to over-tighten, as this may damage the threads or the block
-
Check the Seal
- After installation, perform a pressure test to ensure a proper seal
- Inspect the connection for any signs of leakage

Maintenance
-
Regular Inspection
- Periodically check the block for looseness or leakage
- Inspect the threaded connection for corrosion or damage
-
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Keep the block surface clean to prevent dust and debris accumulation
- For blocks used long-term, it is recommended to periodically remove, clean, and reinstall them
-
Replacement Cycle
- Replace the block regularly based on usage environment and frequency
- Shorten the replacement cycle in corrosive environments or under high-frequency usage conditions

Precautions
- Use appropriate tools during installation to avoid damage from excessive force
- Ensure the correct size block is selected; mismatched sizes may cause leakage or damage
- Do not disassemble or adjust the block while the system is under pressure
- Avoid using in environments exceeding the product's rated pressure and temperature
- Regular inspection and maintenance can extend product life and ensure safe system operation
