CY1S Series Magnetically Coupled Rodless Cylinder User Manual

Product Introduction
The CY1S series represents an innovative line of magnetically coupled rodless cylinders that eliminate the need for traditional piston rods, offering significant space savings and enhanced versatility. These cylinders achieve synchronous movement through magnetic force transmission between the internal piston and external carriage, providing exceptional motion precision and stability.
Working Principle
The CY1S series magnetically coupled rodless cylinders operate based on magnetic coupling technology:
- A set of high-strength permanent magnetic rings are installed on the piston
- Another set of magnetic rings are installed inside the external slider
- The two sets of magnetic rings have opposite polarities, creating a strong attractive force
- When the piston is pushed by air pressure inside the cylinder tube, it drives the external slider to move synchronously through magnetic force
- There is no mechanical connection between the piston and slider; magnetic force is transmitted through the thin-walled cylinder tube

Installation Steps
-
Preparation
- Verify that the cylinder model and specifications match application requirements
- Inspect the cylinder for any transportation damage
- Prepare necessary installation tools and accessories
-
Mounting Location Selection
- Choose a sturdy, flat mounting surface
- Ensure sufficient space for full cylinder extension
- Avoid locations subject to excessive vibration or impact
-
Securing the Cylinder
- Use appropriate bolts to secure through the cylinder mounting holes
- Ensure the cylinder is firmly mounted without looseness
- Verify horizontal or vertical installation as required by the application
-
Air Supply Connection
- Connect suitable air hoses to the cylinder ports
- Ensure hose size matches the port specifications
- Install a pressure regulator and filter between the air supply and cylinder
-
Accessory Installation
- Install magnetic switches or other sensors if required
- Mount cushioning devices (if applicable)

Operation Guide
-
Pre-Startup Checks
- Confirm air supply pressure is within the recommended range
- Check all connections for tightness
- Ensure operating environment meets temperature requirements
-
Operation Procedure
- Adjust air pressure via control valves
- Test cylinder reciprocating motion
- Adjust cushioning devices for smooth operation
-
Safety Precautions
- Avoid placing hands or body parts in the cylinder's path of movement
- Shut off air supply and relieve pressure before maintenance
- Regularly inspect cylinder operating status

Maintenance
-
Daily Inspection
- Check for air leaks
- Inspect slider movement for smooth operation
- Ensure no abnormal noise or vibration
-
Regular Maintenance
- Check magnetic ring attraction force every 6 months
- Inspect seals annually
- Periodically clean the cylinder exterior to prevent dust accumulation
-
Long-Term Storage
- Clean the cylinder before storage
- Apply rust inhibitor
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated environment

Troubleshooting
-
Cylinder fails to operate
Possible Cause: Insufficient air pressure
Solution: Check air supply pressure, adjust to recommended range
Possible Cause: Valve malfunction
Solution: Inspect and replace valve
Possible Cause: Piston stuck
Solution: Check for foreign objects, disassemble and clean if necessary
-
Unsmooth movement
Possible Cause: Improper cushion adjustment
Solution: Readjust cushioning devices
Possible Cause: Air pressure fluctuation
Solution: Install pressure stabilization device
Possible Cause: Insufficient magnetic force
Solution: Check magnetic rings, replace if necessary
-
Air leakage
Possible Cause: Damaged seals
Solution: Replace seals
Possible Cause: Loose connections
Solution: Tighten connections
-
Magnetic decoupling (de-targeting)
Possible Cause: Excessive load
Solution: Reduce load or select a larger cylinder
Possible Cause: Excessive air pressure
Solution: Reduce air pressure to recommended range
Possible Cause: Magnetic ring wear
Solution: Inspect and replace magnetic rings
