WENK Pneumatic MHF2 Series Slim Pneumatic Gripper

The MHF2 series represents a breakthrough in compact pneumatic gripping technology, with a height reduced to approximately 1/3 of standard grippers while maintaining or exceeding the gripping force of traditional models. This low-profile design significantly reduces moment generation, enhancing precision and stability in automated operations.

Available in bore sizes from 8mm to 32mm, the MHF2 offers three stroke lengths (short, medium, long) for each size, providing versatile solutions for various application requirements. The double piston mechanism delivers impressive gripping force—up to 141N at 0.5MPa for the 20mm model—while the integrated linear guide ensures smooth, accurate movement with repeatability of ±0.05mm.

Ideal for space-constrained environments, the MHF2 features flexible mounting options, two-directional piping, and compatibility with position sensors for enhanced automation control. Its robust construction includes martensitic stainless steel components, ensuring durability even in demanding industrial settings.

Whether used in assembly lines, packaging systems, or precision machining operations, the MHF2 thin pneumatic finger combines space-saving design with high performance, making it an excellent choice for modern automation challenges.

    Installation Steps

    1. Confirm installation location and space requirements

      • Ensure mounting surface is flat and sufficiently strong
      • Reserve appropriate space for piping and wiring
    2. Secure the gripper body

      • Use suitable screws to fix the gripper to the mounting surface
      • For MHF2-8D model, use 2 M3×0.5 threaded holes (depth 7mm)
      • Ensure secure installation to avoid precision issues due to looseness
    3. Install fingers and accessories

      • Install appropriate fingers or fixtures according to application requirements
      • Use accessory mounting threaded holes to fix additional devices
    4. Piping connection

      • Confirm the opening and closing direction of the gripper
      • Connect to air ports using suitable air tubes and fittings
      • Ensure piping is properly sealed without leaks
    5. Magnetic switch installation (optional)

      • Install magnetic switches if position detection is required
      • Adjust switch position to accurately detect finger position
    MHF2(3)

    Operation Guide

    1. Pre-start checks

      • Confirm air supply pressure is within specified range
      • Check piping connections for correctness
      • Ensure operating environment temperature is within allowable range
    2. Basic operation

      • Control the opening and closing of fingers by controlling the supply and exhaust of compressed air
      • Finger opening: Compressed air enters from the "open port"
      • Finger closing: Compressed air enters from the "close port"
    3. Gripping force adjustment

      • Adjust gripping force by regulating working air pressure
      • Higher air pressure results in greater gripping force
      • Select appropriate gripping force based on workpiece weight and material
    4. Stroke adjustment

      • Choose appropriate stroke length (short, medium, long) as needed
      • Ensure workpiece is stably clamped throughout the entire stroke range

    Maintenance

    1. Daily inspection

      • Check for piping leaks
      • Confirm smooth operation of the gripper
      • Inspect fingers and fixtures for wear or damage
    2. Regular maintenance

      • Every 3 months:
        • Clean the exterior of the gripper
        • Check for loose mounting screws
        • Inspect wear on fingers and fixtures
      • Every 6 months:
        • Replace grease
        • Check the working status of magnetic switches
        • Perform comprehensive functional testing
    3. Lubrication

      • Use recommended lubricating oil or grease
      • Avoid over-lubrication to prevent workpiece contamination or precision issues
